Where to Drink in Hull This Summer
Sun-traps, rooftops and beer gardens worth crossing town for.
When the sun finally shows up in Hull, the best seats disappear quickly. The trick is to pick your side of the city early: Marina and Humber Street for waterside tables, Old Town for historic pubs, Princes Avenue for an easy crawl, or Newland Avenue for casual pints and late food.
For something relaxed, look for courtyards and pavement tables rather than the biggest beer garden. Hull's summer drinking is at its best when it feels improvised: a cold pint after work, a shared bottle outside, a last-minute plan that somehow becomes a whole evening.
Book if you are eating, be kind to staff, and remember that the best table is often the one you can actually get.
